Refund Policy

Last updated 19 September 2026
30 days, no questions asked. If a product isn't what you expected, email us within 30 days of purchase and you get your money back.

Digital products are easy to sell badly. You can't flip through a PDF before you buy it the way you can a book in a shop. So the refund policy is deliberately simple, and we'd rather refund someone than have them feel stuck with something that wasn't for them.

How to request one

  1. Email hello@truthbehindbars.com from the address you used at checkout
  2. Include your transaction ID if you have it — it's on your Paddle receipt, and it makes things faster
  3. That's it. You don't have to explain why, though we're always glad to hear what didn't work

What happens next

We reply within two business days and approve the refund. Paddle then returns the money to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, it usually appears within five to ten business days.

You will receive confirmation from Paddle when the refund is issued.

Keeping the file

We won't ask you to delete anything you've downloaded — we have no way to check, and chasing people over it would be worse than the refund itself. We just ask that you stop using it and don't share it.

The limits

The 30-day window runs from the date of purchase. After that we can't process a refund through Paddle in the normal way, though if something has genuinely gone wrong, email us anyway and we'll see what we can do.

We may decline requests where there's clear evidence of abuse — for example repeated buy-and-refund cycles on the same product, or bulk purchases refunded after distribution. This is rare and we'd rather not need the clause.

If something is broken

If your file won't download, the link expired, or the PDF is corrupted, that isn't a refund situation — it's a fix. Email us and we'll send the file directly, usually the same day. You only need a refund if you want your money back, not if you just want the book.

Your statutory rights

This policy sits on top of any consumer rights you have where you live. In some countries, statutory cancellation rights for digital content are waived once download begins, but our 30-day policy applies regardless, and is more generous than the legal minimum in most places.

Who issues the refund

Paddle.com Market Ltd is the merchant of record for all orders and processes refunds on our instruction. You can also contact Paddle directly through the receipt they sent you.
